The Circus Came to Town!

Last weekend we took Preston to the circus for the first time. He was super excited to go! When we told him, he jumped up and down and yelled, "We're going to the circus! We're going to the circus!" Pretty cute! We got there and he was mezmerized by all the lights, toys and circus food all around. It was a great show, full of all the exciting acts you would expect to see, the lions and tigers (daddy's favorite), the elephants (mommy's favorite) and clowns (Preston's favorite). They had a little clown skit where a clown was dressed up like Rapunzel from Tangled. Preston thought that was pretty funny and then when we asked him what his favorite part of the show was (expecting animals) he said, "Tangled!" haha Easily amuzed. Unfortunately, I didn't catch a picture of Tangled, as I didn't see it as a very important part of the show, clearly I was wrong! We had a lot of fun! Always super fun sharing these first time experiences with our little man! He's growing up so fast. He enjoyed some popcorn and a delicious snowcone in a clown cup. We ended our adventure by picking out a toy. Preston picked out...you guessed it, a sword! =) Love that sweet boy so much! Such a fun day!

Dining At a Real Castle!

Thursday nights we have what we have titled "Family Fun Nights". Every Thursday we do something fun as a family. Not always big fancy things, sometimes just a picnic, or popcorn and a movie or Gatti Town or Main Event. But last Thursday we had a special Family fun night. We took Preston to Medieval Times for the first time. He was thrilled to be able to eat at a "real castle"! He was completely amuzed by the knights and his favorite part was the sword fighting. Of course we walked out with a sword and a shield. I'm pretty sure that he has a sword from every place we've been. This kid is ALL boy! Love him so much and so thankful to be able to share in this fun night as a family!

Dad Mota's 70th Birthday

July 10th we celebrated Steve's dads 70th birthday! We celebrated on his birthday with dinner at Ernesto's and then we went back to Steph and Gene's for pecan pie and gifts. We had coordinated with the family to get pictures of everyone in a T-shirt telling Mr. Mota "Happy Birthday!" We had the pics hanging at the house when they got there, so even though our family is all around, it felt like everyone was there. It was pretty special. He opened some gifts, but his main gift was a trip to Beaver Bend in OK.

We all loaded up on Friday the 12th and headed to Beaver's bend as a family. It was a beautiful cabin with an incredible view! We got there and had Mr. Mota go upstairs while we got everything decorated. We decided to make it a birthday weekend for his 70th, so we made it a Chess theme, complete with a chess board cake! It was fun! We celebrated and opened a few more "chess" gifts. We ended the evening sitting by the campfire and chatting as a family.

Saturday we relaxed throughout the day and enjoyed being at the cabin. The BBQ was delicious and the company was wonderful! That evening we went over to the river to skip some rocks and watch the sunset. It was beautiful! Definitely felt that God was with us that evening as we all just enjoyed our time together and embraced nature. We roasted marshmallows when we got home and listened to music ans we all fell into a trance at the firepit.
It was a wonderful weekend celebrating someone we all love dearly! Here's to many more wonderful years!
