Mota-Vational Quotes

  • "Life isn't about how to survive the storm but how to dance in the rain!"
  • "The happiest people don't always have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have."
  • "Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running."

My Birthday!

I had a wonderful birthday celebration this year! I celebrated with Stephen, my mom, Steph, Gene and the Mota's. We went to dinner at Mattito's (my fave) and then headed home for some yummy cake and lots of great gifts! I am truly blessed and feel so loved! Looking forward to another great year!

Celebrating a Good Friends Achievements

As most of you know, one of my best friends Ashley has her own magazine, The Brides of Oklahoma. She has recently decided to launch in North Texas. After lots of hard work, they had a successful launch of The Brides of North Texas. They celebrated their launch at the Nylo Hotel here in Dallas, so Steve and I got to attend. It was fabulous! They did such a wonderful job planning, it was absolutely beautiful!! Plus, I got a chance to drink virgin cocktails and celebrate with my fellow prego friend! We had lot's of fun and I am super proud of Ashley and her acomplishments!

WE'RE PREGNANT!

I haven't posted in a while because we have BIG news that I was trying to hold in until we were through the first tri-mester! But, we have gotten through the first trimester now and I can say, it's true, WE'RE HAVING A BABY! =)

We couldn't be more excited! We found out December 23rd. Our family knew immediately, and everyone is ecstatic! I am now 12 weeks and 4 days. These are pics from our first 2 sonograms. The first one at 8 weeks was scanned on pink paper, but don't be confused we do not yet know if its boy or girl. The 2nd sono at 12 weeks you can tell that baby has gotten quite a bit bigger. I even threw in a video from our 12 weeks appt that has our little one waving at us! Isn't that the cutest baby you've ever seen?! Okay, so I might be partial, but enjoy!

Christmas Weekend

On Christmas Eve we traveled to my moms to meet up with her, Drew, Shelly and the kiddos to celebrate Christmas. We hit the roads pretty early, but still managed to hit some icy roads on the beautiful White Christmas we were blessed with this year. Mom lives near the Brazos River, so the scenery was absolutely beautiful covered in snow! Even with all the snow, Santa managed to make it to the house! Riley and Kaylin must've been super good kiddos this year, because Santa brought them some extra special toys! We had such a great time watching the kids, opening gifts, watching the men cook (well they helped anyway) and spending time with the family. It was great! The day after Christmas we went to the Gaylord to see the ICE exhibit and then headed to the Rockettes for a wonderful finale of this Christmas! We are truly thankful we have such wonderful family to share the holidays with!

Christmas #2- Just Stephen and I

Stephen and I celebrated our Christmas together on Christmas Eve morning. We were traveling to my moms that afternoon and didn't want to have to haul everything, so we had our own special little Christmas together at home with our dogs Buddy and Izzy and our pretty Christmas tree. Stephen and I must have been VERY good this year, because we got some GREAT stuff! We had a lot of fun and another wonderfully blessed Christmas!

Mota Christmas

This year we celebrated 3 different Christmas'. Our first was with Stephen's side of the family a week before Christmas. We went over to Stephen's parents house and joined the whole gang for a wonderful family celebration. We ate lots of delicious food, played games, we all made a special wish (a very cool idea Steph brought to the party), tried out the timer on our camera for some group photos and then changed into our matching PJs for gifts and more photo opps. Izzy even got a little gift. We had a wonderful Christmas with this side of the family, we are truly blessed!
