Mota-Vational Quotes

  • "Life isn't about how to survive the storm but how to dance in the rain!"
  • "The happiest people don't always have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have."
  • "Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running."

Last night we hosted a little Halloween party for some of my co-workers. We have a lot of people with kids around the same age, so we thought it would be fun to get the kids together in their cute little costumes. It was a lot of fun. We had pumpkin decorating in the backyard with the firepit going to keep everyone warm and we had cookie decorating and lots of yummy treats inside to choose from. I think Preston had a great time! He loved wearing his dragon costume and we loved seeing all the kids in their cute costumes! Good times all around. Ready for more fun Halloween/Fall festivities!

Echo Canyon & Preston's First Road Trip

We got a chance to have a little adult weekend recently with our friends Kristina and Kyle. We all headed to Echo Canyon in Oklahoma for the weekend. It was a great little bed and breakfast located in the beautiful Arbuckle Mountains. They had delicious food, a great spa and lot's of fun to be had by the 4 of us! We had a great time catching up and acting like college kids again!

While we went away, my mom took Preston to San Angelo to celebrate Kaylin's birthday. He had a blast with Nana, Aunt Shelly, Uncle Drew and his awesome cousins!

We all had a great time, but were anxious to get home to have our little family back together! We missed our boy!

 He LOVED it!

 Lil Stud!

Roasting Marshmallows at the Hill Country Resort
Watching the Movie on the Lawn (Preston quickly fell asleep)
A couple of weeks ago Steve and I decided to take Preston to San Antonio to show him our old stomping grounds (as if a 2 year old cares). He did care about Sea World and all of the fun activities that the Hill Country resort had to offer! We took a long weekend and headed south for some family fun! The first day we started early at Sea World! We had breakfast with the characters from Sesame Street which Preston LOVED! Then we saw all the great shows Sea World has to offer. It didn't take us long to get completely exhausted, so we spent a lot of time relaxing that evening. The rest of the weekend we played in the lazy river/pool, made smores, watched a movie on the lawn, played on the grounds of the hotel, had a couple of great dinners and of course drove by our old houses and reminisced about the good ole days! All in all it was a great little family trip! Love my boys!!

Preston's 2nd Birthday

I can't believe that my little man is 2! He is growing up so fast! We have had an absolute ball with him lately. This age is great! He is constantly playing, laughing, running, jumping, climbing, you name it, he's into it. We are having so much fun! We are so incredibly blessed to have such a beautiful, smart and loving little boy to call our son! We couldn't be more proud!

For his 2nd birthday party I went all out! I have to say Pinterest has taken birthday parties to a whole new level! ;) I loved every minute of it though! We did a farm animal theme because Preston LOVES animals! His party was complete with a petting zoo, face painting, balloon animals, yummy farm food including delicious animal cupcakes, a farm house pinata and fun kid tables for the kids to sit together and celebrate. All of the kids had a blast with the animals! Preston was super excited to see the animals coming in the backyard! He loved it and I think the adults were equally amused! I know I had a blast!

Aside from the animals Preston loved having all of his family and friends here to celebrate! He loved singing Happy Birthday and getting to blow out his candle. He was super proud of himself and reminded us for the next few days that he blew out his candles by himself by saying, "Blow candles self!" Pretty exciting stuff for a 2 year old! Lot's of great times with great people! Thanks to all who shared in the excitement! Now on to planning the 3rd birthday party! ;)
