Mota-Vational Quotes

  • "Life isn't about how to survive the storm but how to dance in the rain!"
  • "The happiest people don't always have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have."
  • "Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running."

Preston Starts Swim Lessons

We started Preston in swim lessons last week. Nana was here to take him to his first lesson. He did such a great job starting off. Its crazy seeing some of these little ones and their capabilities in the water. I'm glad we started, he loves the water. He is going to be our lil fish before we know it! "Just keep swimming" as Dori from Nemo says!

Dad Mota's Birthday

Last week we celebrated another birthday for Mr. Mota. We started the day with a surprise arrival with balloons, Preston was so cute standing at their door waiting for the to answer holding the balloons! That evening we went to dinner at Ernesto's and then went back to their house for cake/pecan pie and more celebration. It was a good time! We are so blessed to spend these times together as a family! Cheers to another year!

4th of July

This year was a little strange with the 4th being on a Wednesday. We had that one day off, so we tried to take full advantage of it! We woke up and went downtown to the parade and hung out there for a while. It was super hot so we headed home and Preston passed out! Steve and I enjoyed some pool time while Preston napped. After he woke up the tables turned. He somehow got something in his sweet little eye. We tried everything (including 2 baths) to flush it out, but it wasn't helping. We ended up spending the remainder of our 4th at the ER with our sweet boy in pain. =( It was not fun at all! He ended up getting some drops and I'm happy to report he is fully recovered now! Whew, that was close!

Lake Time Again

The weekend before 4th of July we headed to the lake with some of our neighbors and good friends Richard, Alana and Christopher. We had such a great time! The boys played in the kiddie pool and on the slip n' slide while we hung and relaxed ont he patio a lot. We took out the boat, went tubing and just played on the lake a while. It was a great time! We ened a super fun day on the lake with our own firework show, so much fun! Preston and Christopher had a blast! The next day we took another little trip on the boat with my mom and her friend, decorated some cookies for the 4th and tried to take advantage of the last couple of hours on the lake. It always goes by too quickly! We had such a great time!

Soccer for Tots

Preston has officially started sports! We enrolled him in Soccer for Tots and he had his first preactice last month. He was super cute and enjoyed most of the exercises. Some things he wasn't very interested in, but others he had a ball. Mom and dad had a ball too! He wanted to keep playing once we got home, so I think he liked it! We will continue going and see how it goes.

Father's Day 2012

As I mentioned in our previous post, Father's Day weekend was a bit of a whilorwind this year since we made a quick trip to OKC, but we tried to make Father's Day super special for Stephen. Preston is so lucky to have such a great daddy and I am so thankful to have him as my hubby and as a role model for my son. He is such an awesome dad!! We had a fun day as a family and were able to get together with Stephen's dad to celebrate him as well. We went to our favorite place Ernesto's for some good Mexican food and continued the celebration as a family. We think we spoiled all of the daddy's well! Thanks to all the great daddy's in our life!

Quick Trip to OKC

Father's Day weekend we made a super quick trip to OKC to see our friends. We spent Friday night with our good friends Kristina and Kyle. Saturday morning we headed over to our friends Ashley and Kyle's to celebrate their sweet kate's 2nd birthday. The party was absolutely precious (Pancakes and Pajamas). Preston had a blast getting his face painted like a Tiger, he thought that was pretty special. On our way home we hit up an Exotic Animal park which was really neat! I don't think any of us had ever been so close to these wild animals. It was a super fun quick trip all around!
