Mota-Vational Quotes

  • "Life isn't about how to survive the storm but how to dance in the rain!"
  • "The happiest people don't always have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have."
  • "Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running."

IT'S A BOY!!!!!

Well yesterday was the BIG day! We called it Pink or Blue day. Both Stephen's mom and my mom went to our appointment with us to find out if their new grandbaby was going to be a boy or a girl! It was so much fun! They measured just about everything possible on this lil baby and then at the end they had a picture on the screen and Stephen said, "What's that a picture of?" I said, "I think thats a picture from the bottom up...is that right" All of a sudden silence fell over everyone. I didn't really realize what had happened, but Stephen gave me a little nudge and I looked up to realize she had typed on the screen, "IT'S A BOY!" =) We all yelled IT'S A BOY and were sooo excited! It was so much fun! Best of all the doctor said our baby boy is growing strong and healthy, everything looked great! =)

After the fun news, we couldn't help but go buy something blue! Well, if you know my mom and I we can't just buy one thing blue...we bought A LOT of blue! We had so much fun buying clothes and shoes and even a couple of cute things for the nursery. Thanks so much Nana for all of the little boy stuff. Our baby is going to be such a little stud! Aunt Steph and Uncle Gene stopped by last night with some fun balloons and baby's first puppy dog. Super sweet!
I couldn't be happier and daddy is on cloud 9! He's going to have a son! It's so much fun to finally know! We are super excited and feel truly blessed to get to experience this amazing miracle!

We love you little man! We can't wait until you join our world!

Bloom Fest

This last weekend we went to the Bloom Fest at the Dallas Arboretum with Stephen's family. It was so pretty to see Spring in full bloom! Beautiful flowers were everywhere and it was a great day to be outside! Lot's of fun! This is the same place that I had my bridal portraits done, so we thought it was only appropriate to take a pregnancy pic in front of the frame I took one of my bridal portraits with. Baby even got a spring pic with some flowers! ;) I'm definitely growing!

Our New Rocker

We got in our first piece of furniture for the nursery...our rocker and ottoman! I was super excited! Poor Steve had to carry it upstairs by himself, because I couldn't wait to get it in the room. =) We had fun putting it together. Thanks grandma and grandpa (Steve's parents) for the comfy rocker! We LOVE it!! We can't wait to rock Baby Mota to sleep in it!

Hoppy Easter!

We had quite the eventful Easter weekend! We started with a trip to the lakehouse to drop off the furniture we cleaned out of the new nursery. We then woke up bright and early Saturday morning for a drive from mom's to San Angelo to see Drew, Shelly, Riley and Kaylin. Riley had a soccer game, so we finally got to see him play. He was such a stud! Their team won 7-0 and Riley scored 3 of those 7 points, yeah I'm a proud aunt, he's the best! =) We even got a chance to see my dad while we were down there, it was great! Stephen and I joked that its normally a wedding or a funeral when this whole crowd gets together, so it was nice to hang for no real reason. We even managed to get a family pic! We went back to Drew and Shelly's for some good BBQ and watched Riley and Kaylin open their Easter baskets from Aunt Lana and Uncle Steve. kaylin looked fabulous in her dress up stuff we gave her. =) So much fun!

We headed back to mom's Saturday afternoon and made it back in time to go visit with grandma for a while. She's in the nursing home and some days are better than others. Thankfully, this was a good day! Grandma got to feel my tummy and I really think she understood that we were telling her we were having a baby. =)

Sunday we went to church and lunch with mom and then headed home. Whew! It was a whirlwind, but really nice to see my family!
