Mota-Vational Quotes

  • "Life isn't about how to survive the storm but how to dance in the rain!"
  • "The happiest people don't always have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have."
  • "Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running."

Family Date Night

Weekend before last, Stephen and I decided to have a family date night. We thought it would be fun to get the kids dressed up and go out for sushi. We had so much fun! Preston dressed in his little sport coat, and Kelsey wore a cute little pink number with ruffles. We went out to Watters Creek in Allen and ate at Blue Fish. Preston got so many compliments on how "sharp" he looked. He was feeling pretty good by the time we left. He wanted to sleep in his sports coat when we got home! haha The kids behaved so well! I would take them on another little family date anytime! I love doing life with this sweet family! Blessed beyond measure!

St. Patty's Day

We love holidays around this house! Any excuse to celebrate, we take it! So when St. Patty's day rolled around this year, we had fun with it! I woke the kids up with green chocolate chip pancakes and green milk! They loved it! They of course wore their "Kiss Me I'm Irish" t-shirts (yes they are actually part Irish). I made green lunches for everyone Stephen and I had green quesadillas and Preston's lunch included, a green turkey wrap, green ships, green apple sauce and green grapes! For dinner I made the kids green quesadillas and Stephen and I had green pasta with green beer/green wine and green milk for the kids. It was a fun GREEN day! Love doing things to make these holidays special and memorable for the kids!

Spring Break

This was Preston's first Spring Break! We didn't really have much planned for Spring Break, but wanted to do something fun, so we decided to go visit Nana. Unfortunately daddy had to work, but I still took the kids and although we missed daddy, we managed to have fun! Our first stop in our Spring break adventure was a surprise visit to a roller skating rink! Preston had never been roller skating, so we met Nana and some friends there and skated the afternoon away! Nana watched Kelsey while Preston and I made the rounds. Preston did great! He never even fell! Stud! He also decided that one of our friends we met Cassie, was pretty cute! They skated around holding hands and Preston told me, "Don't tell anyone, but I want to skate as long as Cassie wants to skate!" It was pretty cute! After a fun day of skating we went back to Nana's house for a little rest and relaxation. We love being at Nana's! She has a beautiful view overlooking the Brazos river. We love to sit on a big rock she has near her cliff, throw rocks down to the river and just enjoy the view. Its mesmerizing! I captured one of my all time favorite shots of Preston dressed as a cowboy wizard, in a trance overlooking God's beautiful creations! Preston and Kelsey both had fun running, playing and tearing up magazines all over Nana's floor (sorry Nana). Our last adventure at Nana's was a short drive to Fossil Rim, where we drove through a zoo. We had so much fun! It was an all day excursion, but we laughed, fed the animals, dressed up like animals and enjoyed the absolutely beautiful weather! We drove home watching the beautiful sunset. We came home the next day and spent the weekend with daddy. We missed him so much! Thanks for having us Nana and for always finding super fun things for us to do! We love you!

Weekend Getaway

A couple of weekends ago Stephen and I went to Lake Tenkiller in Oklahoma. We went to his companies lodge with some of his co-workers for a little getaway. It is always funny when we leave the kids. Regardless who is watching them, I become crazy mom and decide that I have to prepare for any possible situation with notes about everything, snacks and meal plans ready, along with clothes laid out for each day and night with corresponding notes for each child, any possible medicine that might be needed along with notes regarding dosage instructions for each med, insurance cards and phone numbers for all doctors, instruction for TV/DVD players and even phone numbers for delivery services in case food is needed. It is pretty funny! I had to take a picture to capture my craziness! This time Mimi and Papa watched both kids one night and then Steph and Gene took care of Kelsey the 2nd night. I think everyone had a really good time! Mimi and Papa took Preston to a birthday party, which he loved! I think Steph and Gene got a little sample of what its going to be like when their baby girl arrives! Stephen and I had a nice relaxing weekend! We sat by the lake, enjoyed the scenery, went for a nice run around the lake together, did a little karaoke, ate well, had a few drinks, sat by a camp fire, played some lawn games and enjoyed being kid-less for the weekend. It was a nice little getaway and the kids had a blast too! Of course we couldn't wait to get home to our babies! Thanks Mimi, Papa, Steph and Gene for taking such good care of them!
