Mota-Vational Quotes

  • "Life isn't about how to survive the storm but how to dance in the rain!"
  • "The happiest people don't always have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have."
  • "Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running."

Happy Birthday Dad Mota!

Last week we celebrated Stephen's dad's birthday. We got the family together and started our celebrations off at Texas Roadhouse. Mr. Mota was even convinced to sit upon a saddle and swing his napkin above his head as they announced his birthday and all yelled "YEEHAW!". It was a lot of fun and way too much food! We continued the celebration at Steph and Gene's house where he opened gifts and got serenaded with guitars by a wonderful new duo Stephen/Stephanie Mota. They did a great job playing for their first time to play together! Be on the lookout for a national tour coming soon! =) It was a lot of fun and hopefully a wonderful birthday for Mr. Mota. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We love you!!

The Nursery's Complete

We finally got in all of our nursery furniture! It was worth the wait! We were super excited to get everything in the house and finally get Preston's room looking like an actual nursery!

Funny how things don't always go as planned though. I had envisioned a super fun evening of putting everything together in his little room and being super excited about everything. We were excited, but I have to say that NOTHING wanted to work for us! Stephen and I had quite the time trying to pull it all together. First, the guys that set up the crib put the mattress way too high, so when we initially put on the bumper pad in, it didn't fit. After lot's of struggles with that we finally got it to work. Then it was on to the mobile, which again didn't fit on the crib! Stephen had to take that apart and fix it up so we could attach it to the crib. Finally got that to work. Then it was time to put my changing pad cover on that matched the room, and what do you know...it didn't fit either! hahaha Stephen and I had to laugh at this comedy of errors. Stephen said it best, "I hope that we are better at parenting than we are at putting together a nursery!" All in all we finally got everything to work, but it was definitely worth a few laughs. I am super excited how everything turned out! Now all we need is lil Preston! =)

Getting Nursery Ready

So last week was so much fun! My mom brought Riley and Kaylin (my niece and nephew) over to spend some time with us during their summer vacation as well as to help out with getting the nursery together. While Stephen and I worked, Riley and Kaylin broke in our pool and Nana had Alice from Wonderland Murals come over to paint the nursery for lil Preston. We had her do polka-dots and stripes to go with the bedding we got. I am super excited with how it turned out! We got some time to jump in the pool and play with the kiddos and nana once we got home too (somehow nana avoided the swimming pics). All in all it was a wonderful week and we were so thankful to get to spend some extra time with my mom and Riley and Kaylin! What a treat! The house felt so quiet once everyone left. Thank you Nana for the painting, we know lil Preston is going to LOVE his nursery! =)
