Mota-Vational Quotes

  • "Life isn't about how to survive the storm but how to dance in the rain!"
  • "The happiest people don't always have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have."
  • "Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running."

Preston is 8 Months Old!

8 month pic with Blue

Preston's first time in the pool! He LOVED it!

Preston tearing up a magazine on the bed while mommy worked!

Riding in the grocery cart like a big boy!
Sleeps like a little man!
First happy hour with mom and dad

Snuggle time with daddy
Our BIG boy!

I know I say this every month, but it is hard to believe Preston is already 8 months old! Time really does fly when you're having fun! This has been the most fun age yet! Preston is so much fun and it seems like he learns something new everyday! In the last month he...

-Has learned how to wave bye-bye
-Is saying ba-ba (which is what we call his bottle). We aren't sure if this is actually a word yet and he knows what he's saying or just his first consonant, regardless a milestone
-Celebrated his first Easter
-Got in the hot tub for his first time (not super hot of course just warm)
-Got in the pool for his first time
-Is talking constantly- just baby gibberish, but he's saying something!
-Is doing some serious teething! He has 4 teeth on the bottom and I can see 4 coming in on the top. Poor little guy, that has to hurt! =(
-Is really wanting to crawl, but not quite there

-Loves to stand up and can actually balance himself for a few seconds
-Rolls around everywhere and loves it
-Absolutely loves being outside!
-Is now riding in the grocery cart like a big boy
-Sits in a high chair at restaurants
-Can drink from a straw
-Is eating more solids
-Laughs at himself and cracks himself up
-Plays with his toys and really plays with them these days
-Loves animal noises, when we make the noises he thinks its hilarious
-Flew his first kite (with dad)
-Attended his first happy hour with mom and dad and got asked for his number for a play date! That's our boy! ;)
-Can give five on both hands!
-Loves to snuggle and give kisses
-Has started reaching for us
-Now lays his head on our shoulders when he's tired
-Has officially outgrown his infant car seat...time to make the move to the toddler seat

Overall, he's just as sweet as can be! I can not imagine life without him! I had no idea there was room for this much love in my heart. He's an absolute joy and we continue to thank God for him everyday!!

Preston's 1st Easter!

Preston had a wonderful 1st Easter! A couple of weekends ago we took Preston to our neighborhood Easter celebration where he met the Easter bunny, hunted eggs and got a cute bunny balloon. We had a good time celebrating the arrival of Easter with neighbors, Stephen's parents and aunt and uncle who were in town from San Antonio.

Last weekend the celebrations really kicked in and we were busy bunnies! We colored Easter eggs Saturday for the Easter bunny which was fun! Preston did decide it would be fun to see our kitchen floor dyed as he tipped over a glass of blue dye on the tile. Luckily we got a good laugh out of it and it washed off pretty easily and we did manage to get some pretty eggs! Good times!

We started Easter day by getting all dressed up in our Sunday best and taking Preston to church to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. It was a beautiful service that Preston was very excited to be a part of. So excited in fact, that he wanted to talk right along with the pastor throughout the service. Despite the fact that Daddy had to step out a couple of times with Preston to quiet him down, it was a beautiful service that we were happy to be a part of. After church we headed home, opened Easter baskets and had Preston's first Easter egg hunt from the Easter bunny! It was lot's of fun!

That afternoon Nana, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Steph and Uncle Gene joined us for a delicious Easter lunch and more Easter fun! You would've thought it was Christmas around here! Not only did Preston get an Easter basket from the Easter bunny, but he also got one from Nana, one from Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Steph and Uncle Gene! This boy is so blessed!! After lots of basket fun, we played some fun Easter games, hunted more eggs that the family hid for Preston, busted confetti eggs on each others heads and last but not least heated the pool and jumped in! It was Preston's first time in the pool so we had lot's of fun! It was a great first Easter for our little man. We are so grateful for our family to share in this fun day and incredibly gracious for our Father who gave his son so that we could live eternally!

Preston's Spring Pictures

Last weekend we went to have Preston's pictures taken by an old college friend. I think she did such a fantastic job! We were very pleased! It helped a lot that Preston was on his best behavior. he was such a trooper! We had a good time despite the heat and Preston even got to play in the fountain a little at the end!
