Mota-Vational Quotes

  • "Life isn't about how to survive the storm but how to dance in the rain!"
  • "The happiest people don't always have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have."
  • "Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running."

School, Sprinkles and Smiles

Last night was Stephen's first day back to school. He's taking an Operational Management course this semester. I wasn't ready to go back to school quite yet, so I headed for a night out with a couple of my old co-workers for a little girls night.

Christie, Amanda and I met up at Taco Diner for dinner and a little catching up. We didn't have enough time to chat over dinner, so we headed over to Sprinkles for the best cupcakes you'll ever eat. We were so excited to eat our cupcakes, I felt like a kid again. We managed to sit and chat for a couple more hours. There's nothing quite like catching up with some good girlfriends!

I missed Stephen, but he had a good first day of school and I brought him home a peanut butter cupcake surprise. =)

Sushi, Wine & BBQ Weekend

Last weekend Stephen and I did a lot of relaxing. Friday night we had a little date night and went out for sushi at Blue Fish. It was nice catching up from the week in a fun/romantic atmosphere.

Saturday Steve, Steph and I went to Zen Zin (a wine bistro) for a glass of wine and yummy lunch. We then decided to pick up Steve's parents and head to Premier Wines for some wine tastings that evening. We ended the evening introducing Steve's family to one of our favorite places that we just mentioned recently on the blog, Babes! It was a great day!

Sunday was catch up day on some chores around the house and yard. Stephen grilled out for dinner and we had our friends Mike and Jakki over for some of the best BBQ in Texas. I'm not partial at all. ;) We were even able to squeeze in a little time at our neighborhood beach club. It was a wonderful weekend!

O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A!

Stephen and I hit the road for a quick road trip to visit my best friends from college in Oklahoma City. We got to see Kyle and Kristina's now 7 month old, lil Awbrey Anna who is absolutely adorable! We also got to walk through their new house they are building. It's so peaceful out there, they are going to love it, and we are going to love visiting! ;)

Saturday Kyle, Kris, Awbrey, Steve and I met up with Kyle and Ashley at the oldest bar in OK, Eischen's for a delicious dinner. We went home and put baby to bed and the rest of us decided to have lot's of fun catching up and hanging out until 3am!

Good friends and good times, that's what it's all about! Miss you guys, wish you lived closer so we could do that more often!

Country Cookin'

Stephen and I just found that one of our favorite restaurants just opened near us. It's a place called Babe's, a family style restaurant with fried chicken, fried catfish and all the delicious sides you can eat. Steve and I went there last weekend. It's excellent, and the next time any of you come to visit, we'll be headed to Babes!

Chuck E Cheese Please!

What a fun surprise! Mom and Riley came to surprise us after work for a fun evening at Chuck E Cheese. We ate played games and won lot's of tickets for some fun goodies at the end of the night.

Bostocks

Last weekend we had a great time with the family. We all went to mom's house for a fun relaxing weekend. Saturday night mom, Drew, Shelly, Steve and I all went to Stephensville to a place called Bostocks to listen to one of our childhood friends Jonathan play in his band The Britt Lloyd Band. Great Texas Country:

Rough Riders Baseball

Last week Z, Mindy, Steve and I went to the Rough Riders baseball game in Frisco. Little did we know that even after 3 1/2 years you can still get picked to play the Newly Wed game! Oh yes, we got pulled on top of the dug out to answer crazy questions. The questions along w/ our responses are below:

1) What is the meal Delana cooks that you least like?
Delana:I would say enchiladas (could never make them as good as Steve's mom)
Steve:I like EVERYTHING Delana cooks (good answer) ;)

2) What is the thing Steve likes least about being married?
Delana: Based on his last response, he likes everything.
Steve:I have to clean more.

3) What celebrity do you think of when you think of Steve?
Delana: Manu Ginobili-Spurs
Steve:Matthew McConaughey

HAHAHA! Needless to say we didn't do very well, but it was fun and we got free t-shirts!
