Mota-Vational Quotes

  • "Life isn't about how to survive the storm but how to dance in the rain!"
  • "The happiest people don't always have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have."
  • "Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running."

Planning for Baby Girl

Last week my mom was able to come in town to be a part of our sonogram! We got some great pics of our sweet girl this time! She was moving all over! My favorite is the pic of her playing peek-a-boo with us! We are already so incredibly in love with this little bundle of joy! We can't wait to meet her! We were also able to spend some time planning her nursery. The weekend before we spent some time with Stephen's parents looking around at baby furniture. We found the super cute furniture pictured here that we ended up ordering. Then when mom came in, her and I went and selected the fabrics for the bedding and other nursery accessories, the chandalier, the rocker and a sweet little lamp. This little girl is set! I LOVE how it is coming together! I can't wait to get in our new house and get it all set up!! It was a fun day with my mom, glad she was able to share in some of this pregnancy fun with me!!

Medieval Times

Last weekend we took Preston back to Medieval Times. He loves going to the "Castle". He is super cute, he gets completely mesmerized with the knights and their games! It was super fun. We debated going, but on the way when Preston saw the castle he said, "Yay! I'm so excited! This is going to be SO much fun!!" We were glad that we decided to go, his excitement was totally worth it! He's still running around with his crown saying, "I'm a brave knight!" Too cute!

Family Pictures

Weekend before last we went to get our pictures taken downtown. We opted for a change of scenery this year. We got a few good ones, but I think I like last years better. I do LOVE the pics of Preston of course! These will probably be our last pictures as a family of 3! hard to believe!! We also leveraged this time to capture a few maternity pics. You can see my baby bump coming along here. Can't wait to meet this sweet little girl!

End of T Ball Season

It was a fun first undefeated season on t-ball this year! Coach Dad did a fantastic job with the kids. They all loved him and brought him cute colored pictures and cards to thank him for being their coach. It was pretty sweet. Preston enjoyed having his daddy as his coach too! What a special way to kick off his sports activities!! Preston was pretty cute with the sport. At times, he loved it and would want to play all the time. Other times he might have been more interested in playing with the sand on the field. =) I guess thats what happens when you sign up a 3 year old. Regardless, I think he learned a lot and had fun, which is all that really matters. We ended the season with a party at Gatti Town. The kids had a blast playing games and eating pizza. They all were given their participation medals and wore them proudly. It was a great group of kiddos!

Trick or Treat!

Halloween is always a fun time of year and this year Preston made it even more exciting! He was really into everything this year. Enjoyed carving/decorating pumpkins, picked out his own costume (he really wanted to be a skeleton), was excited to wear it at every chance he got, wanted to watch halloween movies every night leading up to Halloween and absolutely LOVED trick or treating this year! It was so much fun! Last weekend we decided to carve and decorate pumpkins. Preston thought it was funny to find all the goo inside the pumpkin and wasn't really a fan of digging it all out! He opted to put stickers and color his pumpkins while daddy and I carved. =) Regardless, we all had fun making our mummy, spider and Preston called his a little bat. It was a fun little tradition that we'll carry on with our family of 4 next year! Halloween was full of festivities! Preston had a Fall Festival at school last Friday that we got to go to. The kids were all in their costumes for a parade and then they had trunk or treating and a movie on the lawn after. Preston had so much fun, he didn't want to leave!
Halloween morning Stephen and I woke Preston up with a little basket of halloween treats. He was WAY excited to start his fun day! After nap time at school their teachers put on their costumes, so he had fun wearing that all afternoon. That night we went to Mimi and Papa's neighborhood since we are still in the A-P-T (aka apartment). We got there, watched one of the movies we gave Preston for Halloween, ate pizza and popcorn and waited for the sun to go down to being trick or treating. Stephen, Preston, baby and I ALL dressed as skeletons this year. It was fun and we got lots of compliments! We went all over mimi and papa's neighborhood! Preston had a blast! He was running, saying, "I want to go to that house!" "Look at that!" "I like Halloween!" It was so much fun to watch him! After hitting up most of the neighbors for candy, we headed over to Aunt Steph and Uncle Gene's so they could see Preston. Preston was very excited to show off his costume over there! It was already getting pretty late, so we missed most of the houses, but we were able to go by one of the scariest/well decorated houses I've ever seen! It was pretty amazing. I thought Preston would've freaked out, but he walked right through the scary grave yard with things jumping out, up through the hall of scary figures to the end where there was a man who you couldn't tell if he was real or not and just said, "Trick or treat!" I was pretty impressed! Tough little man! I was even a little scared! =) All in all we had a lot of fun! It was a great Halloween! Now onto the holiday festivities! =)
