Mota-Vational Quotes

  • "Life isn't about how to survive the storm but how to dance in the rain!"
  • "The happiest people don't always have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have."
  • "Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running."

The morning of February 18, 2014, Stephen, Preston, my mom and I woke up early to head to the hospital. After many days of contractions and much anticipation, we finally had made it to the day of my scheduled induction. We arrived at the hospital at 7am and before I knew it, I was checked in and laying in a hospital bed ready to meet our sweet baby girl. We did have some time to sneak in a few pics before her arrival of Preston waiting patiently and my "BIG belly" as Preston liked to call it. But it wasn't long before things began moving very quickly, just as things did with Preston's delivery. The doctor came in and I was already dialated to a 4 before they even began the meds. Once they started the medsd, the doc came in and broke my water, a little while later I got my epidural. Had time for a couple of quick visitors (Stephen's parents, my mom and Preston) before the doctor came back. When he came in to check on me he said the baby was "sunny side up" meaning she was facing the wrong way and we needed her to turn before I could start pushing. He said the nurse would reposition me to get the baby to move and he would be back in about an hour to check on me. About 5 mins after he left, before I had been repositioned, I told the nurse I thought this baby was coming! She said, "I never doubt my momma's, so I will check you even though the doc just did." Well, I was right! She checked and said, yip, she's turned on her own and she's coming! She called the doc back and said, "She's ready to push, send Dr. MacDonald back in. And, you may want to tell him to walk fast!" He arrived and said, "I was just here!" haha we all got a good laugh and then the show began! It didn't take long and at 12:52pm our lives changed forever! We met our precious little baby girl! Kelsey Diane Mota was born weighing 7lbs 8oz and was 19 3/4" long. Preston came in with Nana to meet his baby sister and went running down the hall to the rest of the family in the waiting room yelling, "she's here, she's here! Baby sister is here!" I hear it was a pretty cute little moment. It was a magical day! We are so incredibly blessed and so in love with our sweet little girl! Life is good!!
