Weekend of Cooking and Celebrating

Stephen and I had a wonderful weekend! We started the weekend on Friday night with an awesome cooking class at Sur La Table! My dad and Sheri gave us this for a Christmas present and it was so much fun!

The food was delicious and we had an absolute blast! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun date night!

Saturday night we met up with Steph and Gene to celebrate Stephen's birthday. His birthday isn't until this Friday, but we celebrated early with them since they'll be heading to California this week. We went to a place called Mercy and had so much fun dining and chatting the evening away! We ended the night back at our place for more fun and games. Thanks for a wonderful evening guys!

Catching Up With an Old Friend

Last night I was able to meet up with one of my best friends and roommates from college, Ashley. We met up for some Mexican food and great conversation! It was fun having a chance to catch up for a few hours. As always, I wish we lived closer so we could do this more often!

28 is GREAT!

Yesterday was my 28th birthday and I took the day off and celebrated with my family. We had a wonderful day out of the office. I woke up to a house full of decorations from my sweet honey! Then Stephen and I started our day with Starbucks, opened presents, went to the mall, met mom and gma at a movie, met the rest of the family for dinner at Babe's (where I got to do the chicken dance for my b-day) and ended the evening at mom and dad Mota's house for delicious cake, punch and more presents. I have to say I'm spoiled rotten! Everyone made my birthday so special this year. I am so thankful to have so many incredible people in my life that want to celebrate with me! What a great b-day! 28 really is GREAT! YAY! =)

SUPER BOWL XLIII

We decided to have a Super Bowl party this year. We invited several of our neighbors, some friends and of course family. We had such a great time! =)It was so neat to have some time to get to know some of our neighbors better. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by some super neat people! We had lot's of food, fun games and great company. We had 3 TV's set up, one in the family room, one in the game room and one on the patio. The game ended up being pretty exciting too, so that was fun. Overall, I'd say it was a success!

Game Night!

Friday night Steph and Gene came over for a fun game night. We had a great time! In fact, we stayed up until the wee hours of the morning playing games, laughing and dancing (see the guys trying to show us their kickline). It was classic and definitely worthy of a blog mention. =)

We spent the rest of the weekend preparing for our big Super Bowl Party Sunday night.

Night On The Town

Last weekend we went out with Mike, Jakki, Steph and Gene. We decided it was a good time to visit several places we'd never been in Frisco/McKinney. We had a great time catching up and taking a look at some of these places written up in D Magazine.

Jenna's Wedding

My cousin Jenna Lucado (now Jenna Bishop)got married last weekend in San Antonio. It was an absolutely amazing wedding! Probably the largest wedding I've ever been to. Attendees included David Robinson from the Spurs, Natalie Grant (Christian singer) as the guest singer for the wedding and of course yours truly. It was incredibly beautiful! The reception was at Don Strange Ranch with 4 beautifully decorated tents surrounded by campfires (for the kids to make smores), hot chocolate stands and delicious food everywhere you looked. We had a great time visiting with family and dancing our hearts out! Congratulations Brett and Jenna! I hope you all have a beutifully blessed life together! We had a great time at the wedding!

4 Years!

The best 4 years of my life that is! Stephen and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary last Thursday January 15th. We do the traditional anniversary gifts every year and this year was fruit and flowers. Stephen sent me 2 dozen beautiful roses to work and I got chocolate covered strawberries, cherries and apples for dessert after a wonderful sushi dinner. We had a great evening! I have been so blessed to have such an awesome husband with a shoulder to cry on, arms to hold me and a kind heart to love me. We have had a wonderful marriage so far and we are looking forward to an even better year 5!

Celine Dion

My wonderful husband got us tickets to go see the Celine Dion concert in Dallas! I LOVE CELINE DION! She is one performer that I've always dreamed of seeing live, and we got to! =) This was truly an amazing performance! You can see a short clip of one of her songs below. If you are going to watch the video, it's best to pause the music on the right side of the screen prior to playing. Thanks Stephen, the show was amazing!

Good Friends

Stephen and I got a chance to visit with some other good friends right after New Years. We got to see Kyle, Kristina and their lil princess Awbrey! We had a good weekend together and took lil Awbrey to the zoo on a surprisingly beautiful January day. =)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We went to dinner with Steph and Gene and then spent New Years Eve with some good friends at Amanda's house! It was so nice to see everyone and bring in New Year's with friends and fun! HAPPY 2009!

We took a little blog break for a while, so I have quite a few updates today. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas with Stephen's family and my mom and grandma this year. We had Christmas eve dinner at our house and let everyone open one gift. Christmas is always full of surprises! We then headed to church to celebrate Jesus' birthday with a beautiful candlelight service. Tis the reason for the season!

Christmas morning everyone came back to open more gifts and eat more delicious food! Tiggy was even dressed for the occassion and could've passed as a package topper. Steph and Gene brought over their dogs Smokey and Jake for a fun filled play date with Buddy. We all had a fun filled day of games, Christmas music and constant munching. We are truly blessed and it was wonderful to have most of our family with us at our house this year. We did get a chance to talk to everyone who couldn't make the trip this year and they all seemed to have a blessed Christmas too. Hope you all enjoyed your time with your family this year as much as we did.
