Mota-Vational Quotes

  • "Life isn't about how to survive the storm but how to dance in the rain!"
  • "The happiest people don't always have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have."
  • "Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running."

Quick Trip to San Angelo

We had a super quick trip to San Angelo a couple of weeks ago! Mom and I had planned to take the kids down to San Angelo to help Drew and Shelly with their kids while Shelly had surgery. The kids and I traveled to Mineral Wells and picked up Nana and then we all drove to San Angelo. Preston had to go potty in the middle of nowhere, so he got his first experience of peeing on the side of the road. He thought that was hilarious! He got in the car yelling, "Nana I peed on the road!" Pretty funny. This was Uncle Drew's first time to meet Miss Kelsey, he thought she was pretty cute. We got there in time for Preston to get to ride with Uncle Drew on his Ranger or "jeep" as Preston would call it. They rode to pick up Riley and Kaylin at the bus stop. Preston thought that was pretty cool! He told us that we needed to buy a "jeep". We quickly got the kids dressed and ran to get some quick pictures for Nana of all 5 grand kids for Mother's Day. It was fast, but we managed to get some cute ones. After that it was another quick change to get ready for Kaylin's baseball game. On our way to the baseball game mom got a call from the nursing home grandma was in saying that grandma wasn't doing very well. After some contemplating and Kaylin's 1st big win, we decided to grab a quick bite to eat and head back to Mineral Wells to check on grandma. The drive back was brutal! We got in at 2am and was able to spend a couple of hours at the nursing home with grandma. We finally went home about 4am. Talk about a whirlwind trip and a serious roadtrip! 11 hours on the road in one day=one exhausted bunch!

Kelsey's Sip & See

A couple of weeks ago we had a Sip & See for Miss Kelsey. Since she was our 2nd baby, we decided we didn't want a shower (because we had most everything we needed from Preston), but instead we wanted to have a Sip & See for our friends and family to come meet our precious little girl. A couple of minutes before the party started, we had lil Miss all dressed and ready and she decided to have a little blow out. So, we had a last minute wardrobe change. I think she knew what she was doing, because I loved this little outfit, she looked adorable! We had lots of fun showing off our little princess and I had lots of fun pulling it all together. I used my grandmother's china. Since she couldn't be with us, I thought she'd be proud to know her beautiful china was still being put to good use. The decor was simple, sweet and elegant, pink and grey to match baby girl's nursery. We had a champagne bar and some finger foods. Preston had fun with a couple of his little friends (Pierce from across the street and Lola, one of my co-workers daughters). We had a good showing. Always proud to show off my kiddos and spend some time with friends and our wonderful family! I love them all SO much!

Kelsey's 2 Months/Preston's 3 years 8 months

Everyone says time flies when you're having fun! I can't believe how quickly the time is going! Kelsey is getting growing and my baby boy is getting bigger and more independent everyday! I'm with them everyday and still amazed at how much they are growing! Kelsey has found her hands and she loves chewing on them! She has also started smiling more, she's so sweet and such a little snuggle bug. I still love how she flexes her little feet when she eats and now she holds my finger. She loves bath time and her big brother!! She really is a good baby! Preston is such a wonderful big brother, so incredibly sweet! He like to lay with Kelsey and "teach her lessons". He reviews colors with her, that's his favorite thing to teach her right now. He has also learned to ride his big boy bike! He is so proud, he rides it around the living room and kitchen, big circles, over and over! He is really into dressing up like a brave knight-"King Angus" to be exact. I love this age, he will pull together just about anything and make it a costume, its pretty cute. He sleeps with as many stuffed animals as he can possibly fit around him. He also got a fish tank and has had fun taking care of them. Life is SO good!
